CRABGRASS PRE-EMERGENT
Your first line of defense in the beginning of the season. Crabgrass can spread more rapidly than many other weeds and is also a lot harder to get control of once it has germinated. Lawn Buddies Crabgrass Application works by preventing crabgrass from germinating. This is a split application done in early and late spring and is vital for keeping your lawn Crabgrass-free.
BROAD-LEAF WEED CONTROL
There are over 100 types of broad-leaf weeds. During the season, we use a range of selective weed controls to treat your lawn at every visit keeping your lawn weed-free. Lawn Buddies only applies premium DEP/EPA approved Broad-leaf Weed Control on your lawn. Your Lawn Buddies Lawn Specialist will apply Broadleaf Weed Control over the entire lawn early in the season to help prevent weeds from germinating. This full lawn application is extremely important during the wet spring months and prevents most weeds from becoming a nuisance all season long.
SEASONAL FERTILIZERS
Did you know that nitrogen is the main ingredient in most lawn fertilizers? It's what your lawn uses to grow quickly and, along with proper watering, is usually the most important ingredient to a beautiful lawn. Lawn Buddies promises to use the most amount of Nitrogen allowed by your specific turf grass. It's what makes our lawns stand out! Lawn Buddies' programs also include vital heat stress summer fertilizers. These special fertilizers target and promote a healthy root structure so that your lawn can handle the harsh summer weather. Our fall and winter fertilizers target the soil as well as the turf to feed them well into the winter and preparing them for next season's applications. Our special Winterizing fertilizer locks important nutrients into your grass to help your lawn survive the cold winter.
GRUB CONTROL
Anyone who lives in New Jersey can tell you about grubs. Not only do the grubs feed on grass roots, but as they develop into beetles they also eat the foliage of your trees, shrubs, and flowers. Grubs then continue their germinating cycle on your property, causing endless amounts of trouble. Lawn Buddies applies a specialized application during the early summer, as this is the time the beetles lay their eggs into the soil. Timing is crucial for this application to prevent hatching and severe damage to your lawn and plants. Lawn Buddies continuously stays up to date on the local weather and temperature forecast to apply this treatment at the perfect time.
SURFACE INSECT CONTROL
Chinch Bugs, Sod Webworms and Cutworms are the most common turf-damaging insects found in this area. If left unchecked, they can do severe damage to the lawn throughout the late spring and summer months. This can lead very quickly to unattractive lawns and costly repairs. Lawn Buddies' insect control is specifically geared toward eliminating a large variety of surface-feeding, turf-damaging insects but will also help with the control of nuisance insects like ants, spiders and centipedes.
NUTSEDGE CONTROL
Nutsedge - sometimes referred to as Nutgrass - has always been in this area in small pockets. However, through the years we have seen this grassy weed become more invasive. Commonly found in areas with poor drainage and/or compacted soil, this weed will grow up to four times as fast as your grass while absorbing all of the vital nutrients needed to keep your lawn alive and healthy. Lawn Buddies uses a specialized mix of selective weed controls to target Nutsedge and help prevent it from multiplying without harming your lawn.
LIME SOIL AMENDMENT
The benefits of this application are endless. Lawn Buddies commonly applies this at the end of the season and sometimes in small amounts with other applications. This slow-acting treatment will raise the Ph level in your soil to promote better growth, stronger effectiveness of fertilizer and add additional essential nutrients to your soil. Nitrogen and Potassium will no longer support the turf properly if the Ph level falls below 6! Because lime is a soil application (not a turf plant application), it takes several months to break down and should be applied yearly.
